Rev Dr Bruce L Bronoske Sr, DMin, MDiv, ThB
Rev Dr Bruce L Bronoske, Sr is the founding and current Senior Pastor of Spanaway Christian Center, having served the congregation in that capacity since its inception in 1983. Dr Bronoske is a native-born, life-long resident of the greater Pierce County area, having been born in Tacoma and raised in Lakewood, WA.
A 1967 graduate of Lakes High School, Dr Bronoske went on to receive his Associate of Arts and Science degree from Tacoma Community College in 1970. Having felt a call to service from his youth, in 1973 Dr Bronoske answered the call of the Lord and began ministry training under the tutelage of the Rev Linnis F Perry, Senior Pastor of Peace Assembly Church in Tacoma. Ordained in 1977, Dr Bronoske served Peace Assembly as an Elder, the Senior Teacher and the Administrator of Peace Assembly Christian School until 1983, when he and his family, along with a team of three other families were sent to begin the work that became Spanaway Christian Center.

Dr Bronoske received his Bachelor of Theology (BTh) and Master of Divinity (MDiv) degrees from Faith Evangelical Seminary in Tacoma, WA, and his Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree from Bakke Graduate University in Seattle, WA. Included in his academic accomplishments is an "Academic Excellence Award" from Faith Evangelical Seminary for, "Superior achievement at the graduate level" and a graduating cumulative gpa of 3.90 for his master's program of study.
Before retiring in 1999 - after twenty-five years of service - Dr Bronoske worked as a Warranted Contracting Officer and Supervisory Contract Specialist for the U.S. General Services Administration in Auburn, WA. Along with supervising a unit of four professional contract specialists, Dr Bronoske supported both military and civilian agencies with the procurement of various supplies and services. At retirement he received the "Administrator's Exceptional Service Award" for his twenty-five years of dedicated service to the Federal Government and the American people.
Being involved with the broader Christian community outside SCC, Dr Bronoske is a member of the graduate adjunct faculty (as a professor of Applied Theology & Pastoral Studies) at Faith Evangelical Seminary in Tacoma, WA, the Dean and Chief Administrative Officer of Pacific Bible Institute in Spanaway, WA, and the former General Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Fellowship of Christian Ministries International (FCMI) - SCC's fellowship organization. Dr Bronoske served the FCMI fellowship as an executive board member for more than 19 years and remains involved with the fellowship by serving as an advisor to the Executive Board.
Dr Bronoske is married to Ginger - the former Virginia L Byrnes of Milton,WA. Another Pierce County native and life-long resident, Ginger was born in Puyallup, graduated from Fife High School and received her Associate of Arts degree from Highline Community College in Federal Way, WA. Bruce and Ginger have three grown children - Bruce Jr., Matthew and Kristin. Their extended family includes a daughter-in-law, Melissa (Matthew's wife), Simba and Chanah (AKC registered Rhodesian Ridgebacks), Sandie and Tido (Matthew & Melissa's dogs) and Boomer & Nugget (Matthew & Melissa's goats).
Some of Dr Bronoske's favorite leisure-time activities include spending time with his wife and family, reading, watching the History Channel (and other historical/archeological documentaries, etc.), playing bass guitar with the SCC worship team, and riding his '98 Harley-Davidson XL1200C Sportster Custom - when Ginger will let him! : )
